About this project

Woodhouse Contracts Ltd asked Jumbo Stud Ltd to build a dividing partition in a new build warehouse in Bracknell.  We divided the office facility from the manufacturing side by installing a 60 min fire rated partition with one side a smooth painted finish and the other side industrial painted finish.

Apart from fire rating the client requested the acoustic rating to be higher than normal, therefore we used 200mm tick rockwool RWA 45 insulation in the cavity to meet their expectations.

This jumbo stud wall was 44m long by 15m high.  We used 15m long SFS metal studs at 1.5mm gauge in one length with 85mm flange to meet fire rating requirements.  The partition was cladded with 12.5mm Fermacell to both sides.

The design of this wall included three movement control joints to allow this wall to have sideways and vertical movement with a heavy gauge deep track fixed to the existing roof structure.

The wall was built in 3 weeks including skimming and painting.  We painted the wall with a paint sprayer; using trollies with wheel covers to ensure a high-quality finish on a very large surface being very careful due to the newly polished floor in the warehouse.  

We issued a 20 year Impact Warranty from Fermacell as we are proud installers of this really high quality warehouse partitioning.
