About this project

Jumbo Stud Ltd were appointed to build huge partitions to divide two warehouses and secure them from fire. One of the warehouses will be holding music events for thousands of people; that’s why our partitions need to comply with architects structural calculations to allow them to sign off collateral warranty as required by City Council.

These Jumbo Stud wall partitions are 100 m long and 11m high. This huge dividing partition required careful planning from beginning to end of the project.  The design of this wall included nine movement control joints to allow for sideways and vertical movement with a heavy gauge deep track fixed to the existing roof structure.

The client instructed us to fix a fire umbrella under the roof structure for better fire rating at the head track.  In fact, there is a high level of wind pressure structural engineers calculated additional brackets to support the partitions from the existing structure.

This project only took two and a half weeks, with six very well-trained men from the Jumbo Stud team, to build this partition in this time scale.

We used only recommended material by Fermacell UK for this project as it comes with a 20 year Impact Warranty.  They supervised this project together with us as we are a recommended contractor by Fermacell UK.
