A jumbo stud wall project in Basingstoke

About this project

We completed the installation of a high-performance dividing wall between existing industrial units, providing over 30 linear metres of partitioning at a height of 8.5 metres.

The project utilised a fully certified Fermacell F60 fire-rated wall system, installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications to ensure compliance with all required fire performance standards.

To accommodate natural structural movement, we incorporated a specially designed head deflection detail at the top of the partition. This allows for roof movement without placing stress on the wall system, helping to prevent cracking, damage, or premature failure over time while maintaining the integrity of the fire-rated construction.

The completed installation delivers a durable, compliant, and long-lasting solution, providing effective fire separation between the adjoining units while allowing the building to perform as intended.
